Aurora Hunting

Winter · 3 h

Guided northern-lights chase across the dark season, often by electric snowmobile. 3 hours, October to March. Sightings depend on solar activity and a clear sky.

Glacier Ice Caves

Winter · 5.5 h

Hike onto a glacier and descend into a natural meltwater cave carved by summer runoff. About 5.5 hours, November to April, when the ice is frozen solid and safe to enter.

Husky Sledding

Winter · 4–6 h

Drive your own dog team through Bolterdalen valley. 4 to 6 hours, December to May, with the most reliable snow from March to May. You steer; the guide leads the convoy.

Snowmobile Backcountry

Winter · up to 10 h

Full-day snowmobile expeditions toward the east coast or Barentsburg. Up to 10 hours, November to May. Long distances over frozen valleys and sea ice with an armed guide.

Fjord & Wildlife Boats

Summer · up to 7 h

Walrus haul-outs, bird cliffs, and glacier fronts by catamaran or RIB. Up to 7 hours, May to October, during the open-water and midnight-sun season.

Tundra ATV

Summer · 4 h

Off-road quad-bike tour along Adventdalen valley over open tundra. About 4 hours, June to September, on the gravel and braided riverbeds left by the summer thaw.

Arctic Hiking

Year-round · up to 6 h

Guided wilderness hikes over tundra, ridges, and moraine. Up to 6 hours, with the core season May to September. An armed guide leads any route outside town.
